Tactical Therapy

Therapy requires bravery, especially for the newcomer to counseling.

Logically...

I know that I need to be honest with myself.

I know we need to be honest with each other. What I underestimate is ... the courageousness involved.

Psychotherapy is approachable if you know the steps involved in the experience.

A Tactical Approach

Observation and Analysis

First, report your experience to your therapist. You know what you are suffering with. Others have opinions based on how you display. You need a psychotherapist to use professional judgement. Things will make sense. You will find relief: a) knowing that your unique story is kept 100% top secret; b) that you are understood; c) not judged.

Identify Objectives

Second, identify desired accomplishments; some concrete some intangible. You are important. What do you want? How do you want to show up for your team? These objectives will be determined by you.

Use Coaching

Absorb your psychotherapist's observations of you using a spirit of growth. DO WHAT YOUR THERAPIST RECOMMENDS. Extensively trained, using experience and knowledge, your psychotherapist will challenge you with tasks, some concrete, some intangible. To change... a person has to change.
